Namaste! Hola! Bonjour!
Charlemagne, the great French Emperor of the 8th century said, having another language is like having another soul!
Knowing an additional language is not only an added skill but also an added cognitive attribute that changes the individual’s perspective of the world. Language learning works on several levels of a child’s intellectual growth and it is said that bilinguals have a much greater ability to think and act fast, to come up with innovative solutions to problems and to adapt more easily to different environments.
Brainy N Bright Public School is one of the few schools in Jalore offering three languages, French, Hindi and English beginning from the child’s tender age of 6 and 7. Our young learners learn a language of their choice as a second language or an additional language and go on to acquire all four skills, reading, writing, speaking and comprehension over the years.
While language learning is more audio-visual and oral communication-based from Early Years to Grade 2, it is more concept-based in the Primary Years Programme. Language classes get to be more rigorous and skill-based in the Middle School Modern Foreign Language (MFL) curriculum while language assessments in High school are skill-based, concept-based as well as content-based.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Middle School English Language and Literature at Brainy N Bright Public School (BNBPS).
First Language English students at BNBPS quickly learn to develop the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with particular emphasis on developing a personal style which is vital in the future world that they will face. Students are also encouraged to explore the infinite universe of imaginative writing, as well as other forms of writing that they will encounter in their lives, such as discursive essays, letters, reports, journals, speeches, interviews, reviews, and articles. In addition, Students are immersed in the creative process of evolving their own stories, whether they be imaginative or descriptive, and are encouraged to develop these skills in the wider world.
Hindi as a modern foreign language is important for the students to learn as this gives them the knowledge of this major language which is spoken in India. Hindi is taught in classes in which the students learn how to hold a conversation as well as read and write. The students are also encouraged to read books written in Hindi and familiarise themselves with the great Hindi authors.
